- Province wide, the rate for c-section births is much higher for mothers over 35 (362.06 per 1,000 live births) than for other age groups (169.15 per 1,000 live births and for the <20 and 20-34 mothers respectively). The rate for teen mothers is the lowest of the three categories considered.
- The trend is statistically significant for older mothers only. All three ages, however, show some evidence that the rate is accelerating in recent years.
