- Of the 315 suicide deaths in the province in 2001, just over three quarters (242) were male.
- The distribution of suicide deaths by month varies from year to year. In 2001, March had 36 suicides, May had 35 and January had 32 suicides. October had the least (16) total suicides, followed by September and December with 18 suicides each month.
- Male deaths from suicide were highest also in January, March and May all with 25 deaths, and lowest in October and December both with 14. Female suicide deaths were highest in March with 11 deaths, and lowest in October and November, both with 2 deaths.
