- Of vital events in the province, only marriages show a seasonal distribution. In 2001, the most popular month to marry was August, with almost one fifth (19.1%) of the year's total marriages. The summer months, from May to September, were chosen by two thirds (67.0%) of 2001's brides and grooms. January was the least popular month for marriages in 2001.
- Live births were generally evenly distributed over the twelve months in 2001. May had the largest number of live births, while February had the lowest number.
- The highest number of deaths in 2001 occurred in January and the lowest numbers occurred in June.
- In 2001, the largest number of stillbirths was in January.
