  • Of vital events in the province, only marriages show a seasonal distribution. In 2000, the most popular month to marry was August, with almost one fifth (18.2%) of the year's total marriages. The summer months, from May to September, were chosen by almost two thirds (66.4%) of 2000's brides and grooms. January was the least popular month for marriages in 2000.

  • Live births were generally evenly distributed over the twelve months in 2000. June had the largest number of live births, while December had the lowest number.

  • The highest number of deaths in 2000 occurred in January and the lowest numbers occurred in July and September.

  • In 2000, the largest number of stillbirths was in July.
