HIGHLIGHTS TO TABLE 18/FIGURE 13
- There were four Local Health Areas (LHAs) with maternal complication ratios that were statistically significant and high in 1999 (number of births with maternal complications in parentheses). These were:

| 161 | Vancouver City Centre | 1.18 | (370) |
| 164 | Vancouver West Side | 1.13 | (565) |
All above LHAs also had statistically significant high ratios for the 1994-1998 period.
- The four LHAs with maternal complication ratios, which were statistically significant and low in 1999 (number of births in parentheses), were:

| 060 | Peace River North | 0.79 | (166) |

With the exception of Kootenay Lake/Nelson, all of these LHAs also had statistically significant low ratios for the 1994-1998 period.
- There were 15 LHAs with statistically significant and high maternal complication ratios in 1994-1998. The five LHAs with the highest ratios which were statistically significant (number of births in parentheses) were:
