  • Of vital events in the province, only marriages show a seasonal distribution. In 1998, the most popular month to marry was August, with approximately one fifth (19.8%) of the year's marriages. The summer months, from May to September, were chosen by almost two thirds (64.9%) of 1998s brides and grooms. January was the least popular month for marriages in 1998.

  • Live births were generally evenly distributed over the twelve months in 1998. July had the largest number of live births, while November had the lowest number.

  • The highest number of deaths in 1998 occurred in March and the lowest number occurred in June.

  • In 1998, the largest number of stillbirths was in February.
